Farmhouse Pantry

While the typical approach to brightening a dark room often involves light colours and ample lighting, the client chose to take a bolder, more daring path. Embracing the natural darkness of the space allowed us to craft a dramatic and intimate atmosphere. The design features base units painted in a luxurious deep plum and wall cabinets in a rich, moody blue.

Our client envisioned a pantry that was more than just a storage area; it needed to function as an extension of the kitchen. We installed a double-bowl butler sink and a Quooker tap, allowing for effortless vegetable washing and meal prep directly within the pantry. An integrated dishwasher adds convenience, keeping the space neat and efficient.

The design carefully maximized storage with clever solutions. We added open shelving with classic tongue-and-groove panelling for easy access to everyday items; in contrast, a glazed cupboard offers an elegant display for glassware. Rustic wicker baskets introduce warmth and texture and a pull-out spice and oil drawer ensures that everything remains organised and within reach.

Every detail of this beautifully handmade pantry was thoughtfully considered to balance functionality with style. An air conditioning unit was discreetly concealed behind a decorative brass grilled door to maintain the sleek aesthetic. The light quartz worktop provides a subtle contrast to the dark cabinetry, adding a touch of brightness without compromising the room’s rich tones.

Finishing touches, like the pewter handles by Hendel & Hendel and the meticulously labelled apothecary jars add a delightful vintage charm.
