Heritage at Home | Celebrating British Craftsmanship

We’ve always believed that where things are made matters, so we wanted to shine a light on a couple of British brands that we work with, and whose values sit comfortably alongside our own.
As a small British maker, we naturally gravitate towards makers closer to home, not just for the heritage, but for the quality, the accountability, and the knowledge that these pieces are built to last. Yes, they can come at a higher price point, but it feels entirely justifiable when you consider the exceptional craftsmanship involved.
A lovely example of this is the apron-fronted butler sink shown here, made by Shaws of Darwen, who have been producing handcrafted fireclay sinks in Lancashire since 1897. Each one is hand-poured, shaped and finished using traditional methods, before being fired at exceptionally high temperatures to achieve that dense, durable glaze. It’s a process of patience rather than speed and you can feel that in the final piece.
The apron front (or ‘pie crust’, as Graham likes to call them) gives that classic pantry feel. A little nod to heritage homes and hardworking sculleries yet it sits just as comfortably in modern country kitchens too.
We’ve paired it here with a satin brass bridge tap from Perrin & Rowe, another British maker known for precision engineering and hand-finished detailing. Designed and made in the UK, with brass cast in the Black Country, their taps have a reassuring weight and tactility to them.
It’s a combination that really sums up what we’re all about, investing in well-made British products and supporting British industry.
