The typical approach of brightening a dark room is with light colours and ample lighting, we however, opted for something bolder and more daring. We decided to embrace the natural darkness of the space, creating a dramatic and intimate atmosphere. The base units are painted in a luxurious deep plum while the walls are dressed in a rich, moody blue. The result? An atmospheric space that exudes both warmth and sophistication.
Where Functionality Meets Style
Our client’s vision for this pantry went beyond simple food storage; it needed to be a fully functional space that eliminated constant trips to the kitchen. We delivered on this by installing a double bowl butler sink and a Quooker tap, perfect for washing vegetables and prepping meals right there in the pantry. An integrated dishwasher adds convenience, keeping everything neat without the extra effort.
We maximised storage with smart solutions, including open shelving with classic tongue-and-groove panelling, and a glazed cupboard to showcase elegant glassware. Rustic wicker baskets from bring in texture and charm, while a pull-out spice and oil drawer ensures everything is organized and within easy reach.
Attention to Detail
To maintain the sleek aesthetic while keeping the space comfortable, we concealed an air conditioning unit behind a grilled cupboard. The light quartz worktop provides a subtle contrast to the dark cabinetry, adding just the right amount of brightness to the room.
Every element was carefully selected, from the pewter handles by Hendel & Hendel to the meticulously labelled apothecary jars.
